Chili Recipe

For a traditional chili, combine Jake's with meat, broth, tomato sauce, and beans (or substitute).

For competitions, use more meat and less beans, and sometimes no beans. To compensate for less beans, add more meat. Some competitions prohibit beans - check the cookoff rules.

INGREDIENTS:
1 lb ground chuck (or substitute)
15 oz beef broth (or substitute)
8 oz tomato sauce (or substitute)
15 oz can pinto beans (or substitute), rinsed and drained, optional
1 pack Jake's Chili Starter, Dry Chili Seasoning Mix

DIRECTIONS:
Set cooking timer to 1 hour. To make 1 batch (6 servings):
1. In 4 qt pot, brown meat for 15 minutes.
2. At 15 minutes, add beef broth, tomato sauce, and pinto beans. Medium boil for 15 minutes, covered.
3. At 30 minutes, stir in 1 pack Jake's. Slow boil for 30 minutes, covered.

Salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!
